Hospital Bienfaisance, located in Pignon, northern Central Plateau of Haiti, was established to provide essential healthcare services to the underserved populations of the region. Supported by Promise for Haiti, the hospital aims to offer high-quality medical care and ongoing training for doctors, nurses, and specialty personnel. The hospital is dedicated to serving all patients regardless of their ability to pay, Today, Hospital Bienfaisance is a modern 65-bed facility equipped with two operating rooms, a full laboratory, endoscopy, x-ray, and a complete pharmacy. The hospital treats a wide range of medical conditions and supports various specialties including general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, urology, otolaryngology, and cardiology. The hospital sees over 60,000 outpatients and admits nearly 10,000 inpatients annually. Additionally, it delivers approximately 4,000 babies each year.

Travel:

Volunteers can travel to Haiti by flying into Port-au-Prince or Cap-Haïtien. It is recommended to use Missionary Flights International (MFI) due to political instability in Port-au-Prince. MFI flies from Fort Pierce, Florida to Pignon with a stopover in Cap-Haïtien. Ground travel is currently discouraged due to safety concerns.
