The hospital now serves a population of around 250,000 people, providing critical healthcare services in a region heavily impacted by poverty, malaria, AIDS, and other debilitating diseases., Today, Kibogora Hospital is a 280-bed facility offering a wide range of medical services. It includes departments for surgery, general medicine, pediatrics, maternity, neonatal care, and isolation. The hospital also runs a busy emergency room, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dental, family planning, and HIV/AIDS testing and treatment clinics. It is staffed primarily by Rwandan and Congolese healthcare professionals, including 13 general practitioners who perform surgeries and manage a variety of medical conditions. The hospital handles approximately 200-220 inpatients and 140-220 outpatients daily, with an annual throughput of 2,400 deliveries, 4,000 surgeries, and 700 gastroscopies.
