Guinebor 2 Hospital (G2) was founded in 2011 by American missionaries Dr. Bert Oubre, a surgeon, and his wife Debbie, a nurse, who had previously established a successful mission hospital in Cameroon. Located on the edge of N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, G2 Hospital serves a diverse population of 172,000, including patients from neighboring countries such as Cameroon, Sudan, and the Central African Republic. Chad is characterized by its hot, arid climate and significant development challenges, making healthcare services like those provided by G2 Hospital essential., G2 Hospital is a 48-bed facility known for its quality and affordable surgical care. It serves approximately 1,000 outpatients and 200 inpatients monthly, including the delivery of 140 babies and the completion of 60-120 surgeries. The hospital also conducts 4,500 lab tests, 380 physiotherapy appointments, and 450 ultrasounds each month. Common surgeries include hernias, cysts, and orthopedic procedures. The hospital's services are crucial in addressing widespread malnutrition, malaria, and high maternal and infant mortality rates in the community.
